U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs pulled in $924.48 million during the week of Aug. 24-28, while ether funds added $824.42 million, and a group of newer altcoin ETFs posted their strongest broad-based showing yet. Combined, the five categories of crypto ETFs — bitcoin, ether, solana, XRP and HYPE — took in roughly $2.07 billion for the week.
Bitcoin's $924M week
Bitcoin funds led the pack, attracting $924.48 million in net inflows over the five trading days. That's a solid week for a product class that has seen its share of volatility since launch. The figure covers Aug. 24 through Aug. 28.
Ether keeps pace
Ether funds weren't far behind, adding $824.42 million over the same period. That puts the second-largest cryptocurrency's ETFs within striking distance of bitcoin's haul, a sign that demand for ether exposure is running hot.
Altcoin ETFs break out
The real surprise came from the altcoin side. Solana, XRP and HYPE exchange-traded funds posted their strongest broad-based showing yet, according to the data. The exact split among those three wasn't broken out, but the broad-based strength suggests investor appetite is spreading beyond the two largest cryptocurrencies.
A $2B week
Add it all up and the week's inflows across the five ETF categories came to roughly $2.07 billion. That's a big number for a single week, and it shows that the ETF wrapper is drawing in money across the board, not just for bitcoin. The coming weeks will show whether the altcoin momentum has legs.
