Uniswap Launches Token Launchpad Pools.trade on Robinhood Chain

Uniswap has launched its first token launchpad, Pools.trade, on Robinhood Chain. The platform lets users create tokens through a 4-hour Crowd Launch or an Instant Launch, with liquidity automatically placed into Uniswap v4 pools and permanently locked. The move pushes Uniswap beyond its traditional DEX role into the earliest stage of a token's lifecycle — the moment a project raises initial liquidity and starts trading.

How Pools.trade works

Pools.trade offers two launch modes. A Crowd Launch runs for four hours, during which users can contribute funds. An Instant Launch lets a creator set the initial parameters and start trading immediately. In both cases, the resulting liquidity is locked into Uniswap v4 pools — no rug-pull risk from the liquidity side, at least. Uniswap is already Robinhood Chain's primary automated market maker, so the launchpad slots neatly into the existing infrastructure.

Robinhood Chain is an Ethereum-compatible Layer 2 that supports multiple Uniswap versions and UniswapX. It's the largest blockchain by real-world asset holder count, but meme coin trading still accounts for most DEX activity on the network. That context matters: early attention on Pools.trade has centered on tokens like FRONG and POOLS. FRONG is treated as the unofficial launchpad token, though Uniswap hasn't confirmed that.

Competing launchpad feels the heat

The arrival of Pools.trade has already reshuffled the deck for existing Robinhood Chain launchpads. The competing launchpad token PONS dropped nearly 14% in 24 hours and almost 48% over the past week as traders rotated into the new narrative. The total market cap of top coins launched on Pons dipped more than 12% in the last day to less than $20 million. That's a sharp rotation, and it suggests the market sees Pools.trade as a serious competitor.

The launch itself was preceded by hidden pages, teaser files, frog imagery, and last-minute changes. One X user called it 'the most documented secret launch in DeFi.'

UNI token and on-chain activity

UNI exchange balances have fallen 15.7% over the past month, while the token has climbed roughly 47% since the beginning of July. At the time of writing, UNI was trading at just over $4.00, up nearly 3% over 24 hours and almost 30% higher across the past month. Still, it's about 91% below its all-time high of $44.92 recorded in May 2021.

Uniswap's share of crypto-related social discussion hit its highest level since November 2025 following the Pools.trade announcement. Santiment concluded that Pools.trade could become an important new source of activity for Uniswap if it continues attracting token launches.

The question now is whether Pools.trade can sustain that attention beyond the initial wave of frog-themed tokens. The first real test will come when a non-meme project uses the launchpad and the community has to decide whether it's a serious distribution tool or just another meme factory.
