Why rent controls were on the table
Rent controls have been debated for years as a way to tackle rising housing costs, especially in London and other high-demand areas. But Rayner shut that door. She argued the Renters Rights' Act, which took effect earlier this year, is already delivering results. The government won't layer new price caps on top of it. The move is a clear win for landlords and property investors, who warned that rent controls would choke supply.
" Now the market snapshot div. It has inline styles. We need to preserve the HTML structure exactly, only translate text content. The div has a heading "📊 Market Data Snapshot" - translate to "📊 Στιγμιότυπο Δεδομένων Αγοράς". The labels: "24h Change" -> "Μεταβολή 24h", "7d Change" -> "Μεταβολή 7d", "Fear & Greed" -> "Φόβος & Απληστία", "Sentiment" -> "Συναίσθημα". The values: "+0.40%", "-1.60%", "25 Extreme Fear" -> "25 Ακραίος Φόβος", "🔴 bearish" -> "🔴 πτωτικό". Also the Bitcoin line: "Bitcoin (BTC): $64,030 Rank #1" -> "Bitcoin (BTC): $64.030 Κατάταξη #1". Note: Greek uses comma as decimal separator? Actually in Greek, decimal point is comma, but for currency and crypto prices, often the English format is used. To be safe, keep the dollar amount as is with a period. But we can also use Greek format: "64.030" with a period? Actually in Greek, thousands separator is dot and decimal is comma, but for USD prices, it's common to keep the English format. I'll keep as "$64,030" but note that in Greek we might write "$64.030" but the original has comma. I'll keep the original format to avoid confusion. Also "Rank #1" -> "Κατάταξη #1". The div structure: we need to keep all the style attributes and class names. Only translate the visible text. Next paragraph: "The same light-touch, market-based approach could shape how the UK handles digital assets. The prevailing narrative has been that the UK is gearing up for a crypto crackdown — the Financial Conduct Authority has been tightening rules on promotions and exchanges. But Rayner's decision suggests the government prefers to work with existing laws rather than create new, heavy-handed regimes. If that philosophy extends to crypto, the UK might rely on current financial frameworks — like the Financial Services and Markets Act — instead of a standalone crypto bill. That would be a softer outcome than many expect."
